Este libro, que me obsequiaron en la iglesia el ...

Este libro, que me obsequiaron en la iglesia el d�a de la Navidad, es inspirador y profundamente transformador. Pero la traducci�n es p�sima. El idioma es muy parecida al espa�ol, pero no lo es.
Por ejemplo, la primera p�gina contiene esta frase: "Eso es, exactamente, lo que yo estaba sintiendo no hace mucho tiempo." Estoy seguro que el ingl�s del libro original lleva la misma frase, y no puedo quejarme de la gram�tica, pero nadie no habla as�. En el espa�ol dir�amos, "yo sent�a hace poco." Si, en el ingl�s se usa la forma gramatical del "gerund" mil veces al d�a, pero el que habla as� en el castellano se identifica como extranjero. Esta traducci�n incorrecta se encuentra repetidamente en cada p�gina de este libro.
Otro ejemplo. Tambi�n en la primera p�gina, se encuentra lo siguiente: "no ten�a �nimo para hacer siquiera eso." Estoy cierto que el Se�or Kelly escribi� palabras inglesas correspondientes a estas, pero el resultado de traducirlo palabra por palabra no es espa�ol. En el espa�ol no usar�amos "siquiera" sino "ni siquiera." Si, en el ingl�s uno evita meter dos palabras negativas en la misma frase, para no parecerse maleducado. Pero en el espa�ol es requisito. No creo que he visto ning�n ejemplo en el libro de una frase negativa traducida correctamente. Y frases negativas abundan.
No continuar�. Si el lector de este libro entiende bien el ingl�s, entender� el libro perfectamente. Pero el que entiende ingl�s quedar� mejor si compra este libro en ingl�s.
No hay nada de nuevo en estas quejas con traducciones al espa�ol. Pero el traductor no deb�a distraerle al lector de los pensamientos verdaderamente �tiles del autor.
