About the Author
Dr John Warren has 20 years of research and teaching experience in agroecology, at the University of Liverpool and the University of the West Indies. He spent seven years at the Scottish Agricultural College as head of the Farmland Ecology Unit, and is currently director of education and lecturer at the Institute of Rural Sciences, University of Wales, Aberystwyth.

The Loving Dominant is a must-read book for those on either side of the slash

I picked up a copy of the first edition of The Loving Dominant in the nineties after, of all things, doing a search on "loving" and "dominant", having come to feel that there must be *someone* out there with a perspective compatible with my own but seemingly lacking (to my eyes) in the local D/s scene where I lived at the time. This book, in its frankness and focus on an ethical and loving approach to D/s, was a welcome affirmation at a very formative time. What's more, it served as a shorthand for communication with people "on the other side of the slash" in sharing broad perspectives as to the important role of love, for many, in realizing deep, positive, connected D/s relationships. I consider it a must-read for anyone drawn to the lifestyle in some fashion, whether dominant or submissive by nature.

Great for committed couples

Great book, especially for someone who wants a Dom/Sub relationship with someone they love and are in a truly long-term committed relationship. All sorts of ideas are in it to spice things up while taking utmost care for one another's safety, and ideas on how to use all of this. There are items in this book I will return to again and again!

It is well written...

I am giving a 5 star review on this book, based on the fact that this book is a "MUST READ" for anyone curious or interested in the BDSM lifestyle. It really let's you get into the mind of the Dominant, while keeping the submissive's well informed on how Dominants are and how to enlighten the BDSM relationship.
